First Recap Of Media Appearances

News

August 11, 2022

As part of Our America’s national campaign launch, Gabriel Nadales and Barrington Dean Martin II have been featured in a series of articles and media appearances covering many of the issues central to Our America’s mission.

The Ingraham Angle

On Friday, July 29, Laura Ingraham of “The Ingraham Angle” interviewed Our America’s National Directors Gabriel Nadales and Barrington Martin II. Nadales is the Western Region National Director and a former member of Antifa who was recruited by the radical group in high school. Martin is the Eastern Region National Director and a former Democratic congressional candidate who primaried the late Democratic congressman John Lewis (GA) in 2020.

On the show, Ingraham asked Nadales: “We’ve been seeing a lot of reporting lately about how especially Hispanic voters are beginning to shift toward the GOP in key parts of America. Is anti-Americanism driving it, or is the anti-small business mindset of the Democrats driving it?”

Nadales answered: “I think it really has to do with the anti-Americanism. Look, from my experience in Antifa as well as in radical politics I can tell you that there’s a lot of people, a lot of radical progressives, within the democratic party that want to make people believe that America is deeply divided or that America doesn’t really care about minority communities, but nothing could be further from the truth. We’ve done our research, and we have found that over 80 of Hispanic Americans and 76 percent of African Americans think that America is a great country, but you wouldn’t hear this from progressive Americans, because their strategy is one of divide and conquer. They want to be able to divide Americans so that they can push their woke ideologies because that’s the only way that they will win…and that’s what OA is really standing against. we’re really trying to give voice to the average American and tell them that it is okay to show your support for America.”

The Washington Free Beacon

On Aug. 3, Gabe and Barrington were featured in an article by Elizabeth Troutman of The Washington Free Beacon. Here are two excerpts from the article:

“Almost 90 percent of Americans of all races ‘love’ the United States, Our America polling shared with the Free Beacon shows. Yet the minority of the population who believe America is racist and evil are the loudest voices in the room,” Martin said.

“Our America is specifically here to give people the full faith and confidence to be able to speak confidently about why they love this country,” Martin, who primaried the late Democratic congressman John Lewis (GA) in 2020, told the Washington Free Beacon. “When I say ‘I love this country, it’s one of the greatest gifts in the world,’ you shouldn’t scoff at me when we are all Americans.”

RealClear Politics

On Aug. 4, in a co-authored op-ed featured on RealClear Politics and originally published in New York Post, Gabe and Barrington shared their views on common sense and civility within K-12 education in America. Here are excerpts from the op-ed:

“Again, finding common ground in education is easier than it first appears. Parents want to send their children to schools that focus not on activism but on teaching students how to think for themselves and work hard. Instilling these skills means concentrating on reading, writing, math and science rather than politically motivated programs about group identity.”

“Hatred and vitriol have seemingly reached a fever pitch, but that doesn’t mean all is lost. While Republicans and Democrats sharply differ about many issues, there’s also plenty of agreement.”

“Most Americans still believe this nation is a land of opportunity where all should be able to chart their own destiny and speak their mind. Instead of emphasizing our disagreements, it’s time to identify and focus on unifying issues, including funding the police, protecting free speech and teaching the next generation American values.”
