Cost of Living

In less than a month, Georgia’s primaries will begin and the results that night will offer a strong indication of what to expect in November.

Since the start of the year, after attending weekly visits to the State Capitol, community town halls, luncheons, BBQ gatherings, and candidate meet-and-greets, one observation stands out: voters are more informed, discerning, and engaged than ever before.

Regardless of which political party is in office or seeking to lead, candidates across the state are working tirelessly to connect with voters, presenting their visions for a stronger Georgia. Whether voters choose to support or replace current leadership, one issue continues to rise above the rest: the cost of living. Close behind are two values voters increasingly demand: truth and common sense.

A major force shaping this shift is Generation Z. Unlike previous election cycles, more young people are stepping into the political arena, recognizing that their version of the American Dream looks different from that of their grandparents and parents. With over 71 million Americans nationwide and approximately 800,000 residents in Georgia between the ages of 18–24 Gen Z is emerging as a powerful and influential voting bloc.

This generation is deeply impacted by rising gas prices, the lack of affordable housing, and increasing grocery expenses. But beyond economic concerns, they are also vocal advocates for truth, transparency, and practical solutions. Known as “digital natives,” Gen Z has grown up fully connected leveraging smartphones, laptops, and social media not only for communication but for education and awareness.

With unprecedented access to information, they are asking deeper questions, challenging long-standing narratives, and focusing on real-life “kitchen table” issues that affect their daily lives. They are critical thinkers who expect more and are no longer satisfied with recycled talking points.

At the same time, these values extend beyond any single generation or political affiliation. Across Georgia, voters whether politically active or not are seeking leaders who deliver real results. They want leadership grounded in integrity, guided by American values, and committed to serving truth and common sense not just in words, but in action.

No matter what political party someone belongs to or even if they don’t claim one at all there is a shared desire rising across our state.

There’s a desire for truth, a desire for common sense and a desire for leadership that reflects integrity. Families are feeling the weight of the cost of living from small towns, to the suburbs, to the inner cities.

People are not just looking for words anymore, they are looking for real solutions that bring relief, restore stability, and create opportunity.

At the same time, I can’t help but to notice that something deeper is happening.

There is a renewed hunger not just for policy but for purpose. Not just for leadership but for leadership that is grounded in values. Values that transcend politics in which they bring people together for a brighter and prosperous Georgia.

Because at the end of the day, whether we come from different backgrounds, different communities, or different political beliefs we all want the same foundation:

Hope for our families, stability in our communities and a future that is stronger than our present.

When we lead with truth, when we act with integrity and when we choose to come together with common purpose, we become the change that we want to see.
