Our American Voices is a new OAF project that features everyday people from a wide variety of backgrounds who share why they joined our cause, what makes them proud to be an American, and what makes them optimistic about the future of our country.
My name is Jarrod Allen. I’m a born and raised Georgia native with a passion for bringing people together and turning conversations into action.
As cliché as it may sound, “this land is your land, this land is my land.” America is multicultural; it’s layered, it’s diverse, and it’s constantly evolving. I joined Our America because I believe every voice deserves a seat at the table, and I wanted the opportunity to take part in something bigger than myself, to help create spaces where voices are heard.
What makes me proud as an American is that in this country, your starting point doesn’t define your ending. No matter where you come from, anyone can build something meaningful. The American spirt is one of perseverance and resiliency, that belief drives people to chase opportunity every single day.
I value our freedoms, starting with the first amendment, backed by the second amendment. The ability to speak your mind freely and practice your beliefs publicly, knowing those freedoms are protected gives people the confidence to stand on their convictions, not just keep them to themselves.
What keeps me optimistic is the American people; especially those who are stepping up right now to get involved and be part of the solution. Freedom isn’t free, and it takes dedicated leaders to keep the American Dream alive.
