On October 17, the Our America Foundation hosted a table at the Fresh Start International Expo. Fresh Start is an organization whose purpose is to reintegrate formerly incarcerated individuals back into their communities. They offer services such as job placement, legal services, and more.
Public safety is an important core value, but we firmly believe that once an individual has served their time that they should be given a second chance to reintegrate into society.
Our activists have previously worked with Fresh Start International, and their Director, Tom Cortese, is also one of our Hometown Hero activists. Our Arizona State Director, Paul Parisi, and eight more of our activists attended a fundraiser lunch for Fresh Start a few weeks ago.
Our outreach efforts at the expo were successful and we recruited 32 new Hometown Heroes.
Check out some photos from the event.
We are excited to welcome these new Hometown Heroes to our growing network and look forward to working together to continue to grow our efforts in Arizona.
